Central Park’s “Alien Nine” is the type of anime and graphic novel fare that only young girls can love. Indeed, if one can get past the fact that the intended audience for this fare is strictly limited on this basis, the show and the books are really quite compelling on their own rights.
“Alien Nine” concerns a group of girls embarked on saving the world from sundry aliens and other bad things. The three 6th grade heroines are named Kumi, Kusumi, and Yuri, and they find themselves pitted against some of the most fearsome creatures outside of seriously adult graphic novel fare.
The best of both worlds can be had in relation to both “Alien Nine,” the DVD, and three gorgeous graphic novels packaged into a single “Ultimate Collection” box set. The “Ultimate Collection” truly is the best way to obtain the set, as it is priced competitively less than $50, just about the price of two single DVD’s alone.
Young fans of anime and graphic novels alike will want to join their three heroines in a fight against the symbiotic aliens called Borg. While fighting aliens that land at their school may be entirely removed from the norm of entertainment experience, there is nothing that cannot happen in Japan’s most famous present-day art-form.
