MAX 550-EX ACRegenerator

Panamax has built its formidable reputation over more than three decades as perhaps the premier designer and manufacturer of power conditioning components for high-end audio applications. Panamax’s comprehensive line of power conditioners are designed to act either as standalone units, or as part of fully-integrated home theater systems that may well be spread across large rooms or, indeed, across the entire house. Many of Panamax’s current line will feel equally at home in your modest home theater component cabinet as it will amongst the bevy of components often featured in a full-fledged rack system controlling a top-end home theater.

An excellent example of the company’s current capabilities in power conditioning can be found in Panamax’s EX Component family, with the flagship in the line, the “MAX 5500-EX” providing the utmost capabilities in AC Monitoring and Regeneration.

The “MAX 5500-EX” contains 11 outlets, all of which can be on simultaneously, and up to 4 switched to either “Isolated” or “Balanced” power for digital source components, such as DVD or CD players. Moreover, the unit sports four Satellite television Coaxial jacks and four Cable TV Coax jacks, as well as two each of LAN jacks and Phone Jacks

See what I mean? The entire home theater system (including any LAN, Internet, or Television connection) is covered with the “MAX 5500-EX!”

While the precise technical aspects of the “MAX 5500-EX’s” operation are beyond the scope of this article, suffice to say that Panamax feels strongly enough about the product’s technical aptitude that it offers up to $5 million in equipment protection should the unit ever fail to do its job. Moreover, the company’s three year product warranty is amongst the best in the business, if even a five year warranty might have been welcome for a product that is likely to be in your equipment closet for a much longer period of time.

Indeed, the “MAX 5500-EX” may be the unit that powers your components for the next two, three, or even four decades, as its design is sufficiently solid and its technological capabilities are advanced enough to accommodate any imaginable A/V component for the foreseeable future. The unit is engineered to stand the toughest power tests, and this solidity of design also implies the device’s longevity.

Purchasers should certainly look at the Panamax product both as an investment and as insurance - an investment in power condition for present and future components, and as insurance against damage to today’s generation of high-end (expensive) home theater products. Power conditioning is essential for high-end systems, and with the “MAX 5500-EX,” there is a case to be made for its obligatory integration even into the increasingly ubiquitous living room theaters.
